Happy Valentines Day!
Excellent week! I've learned from last week how to keep more on
top of things and as you can see from my progress chart
I did much better. I've also figure that I need to make some adjustments for my progress
chart because I don't need to be doing everything at once. I'm going to be figuring
out my priorities today.
I've had so many revelations this week. It's been very exciting.
The biggest one is that I am living my dream. As you might have noticed, the motto
for this website is that "Dreams Come True". I really truly believe in this (of course
otherwise I wouldn't have chosen it ;-)). However, I just realized that in order to
attain your dream, you basically have to live it. It's not just the end result but the
journey. In fact, I feel that the journey is even more important than the destination.
Hmm. I'm now thinking, perhaps I should change the motto to "Live your
Dream! Now!". I like that. Or maybe even, "You are living your dream!". That's not
bad either. Something to think about. Forget it. I'm going to change it now and I'm
going for number 2.
That's it for now. I'm rich and I'm living my dream! ;-)
Have a fabulous week!!! Love.

Good Morning Everyone! This was a very good week. I've
figure out a lot of things. The biggest breakthrough was from creating
the progress sheet. It's amazing! It's helping me to realize that I
get off track a lot more than I realized and it's keeping me focussed on
what I've decided is important to me. I'm going to finish off the progress page and
I placed a permanent link above.
Another great exercise that I've figured out is reviewing
my morning pages once a week. It's giving me a lot of insight. I decided to
do it out of frustration of re-reading all my morning pages for 2003 at the end of last year
and in doing so, I've discovered a new tool that helps me keep on track and
discover that I'm really moving forward in my life.
I got a great email from my friend Anneloes about thinking and
growing rich. As we all know, it takes money to make money. So if you believe
that you a rich and you act rich then you will be rich. It seems simple and a
little trivialized but I believe it's true. So I've been doing a lot of visualizing
this week and it's amazing how good I feel! :-)
Well, that's it for now. Have a fantastic week!

Hello! I just reviewed my morning pages for this week. Wow!
There was so much there, but what I realized is that I was getting off track all
week. I must say, it's difficult staying focussed sometimes because you get
so involved with something and it takes you to a different place and you don't
notice and you keep going and then you realize you're nowhere near where you
wanted to go. So, it's great that I'm reviewing my morning pages once a week
because it keeps me more on track and I don't have to go so long before I figure
out that I've been off track for a long time.
Well, I just started a new job and yes it's just a job but
it's so interesting what I ended up doing on Friday. I was calling up people to
do a preliminary interview on the phone. I was interviewing people for sales
positions. How bizarre is that, since I decided to go after sales jobs!
However, I've also come full circle and decided not to look
for sales jobs anymore because I actually do have a sales job for Elle Filme Inc.
I need to either sell a script and/or raise money for my film.
Today, I had a great talk with a new friend of mine about life
and goals/intentions and so on. It was great because we are on similar life paths
at the moment. Anyway, he gave me a great exercise that I will be working on for
the next few days. It's actually mapping out your life rather than creating lists
of goals and to dos and lists of lists. Believe me, I'm the queen of lists. I have
lists coming out my yin yang but I'm finding that it's not a very effective
tool as far as I'm concerned. But this mapping out seems to be the thing I've
been looking for.
I've also been working on that page that I mentioned a few
entries ago about keeping track of my progress. It's not quite finished yet but
here's the link so far. Once it's really ready I'm going to put a permanent link up.
Oh ya, I've started storyboarding one of my shorts. I'm pretty
happy with it. I just have to polish it up and set a budget and it'll be ready for
filming! :-)
Well, that's it for now. Have a great week!

Good Morning! Happy Birthday to me!!! :-)
I just called a friend to talk with her and I said, by the way
it's my birthday. She said: "Oh My God! I'm so sorry. I knew that". I knew
she knew and I really didn't care. Like I told her, I just wanted to hear
Happy Birthday!
I know the above may sound strange but what's the point in feeling
sorry for myself. The bottom line is I want to hear Happy Birthday from my friends and
family and I really don't care how it comes about because I know down deep inside
that all of my friends and family love me.
Well, as you can see it's been almost 2 weeks. I've decided to
change my update day to Saturdays because I want one day totally to myself, which
would be Sunday.
They say repetition is the mother of success. I'm starting to realize
this. I've been listening to Tony Robbins tapes again and sometimes you need to hear things
many many times before you do something about it.
I recently discovered that when I set out to do something and I give
myself a deadline that I really need to move the deadline up by halving the time otherwise
I don't focus on what I need to do until way to close to the deadline and then whatever I
do is really second rate.
I've also realized that when I do focus every waking moment on an issue
at hand that something wonderful happens. Focus is the answer my friends. Focus is the
answer.
Have a fantastic week! I love you all.

Good Morning! Hope you're all doing well!
I just finished reading my morning pages for the week. This
is something new that I've decided to do for this year because when I read my
morning pages for the last year it was a lot of work. Not only that, but I think
I could have progressed much better by knowing what I had accomplished from week to week.
Well, I think I made the right decision. I've realized a couple of
things. For example, I made some decisions that I had forgotten about and if I hadn't
read about them again, I wouldn't have thought about them again. It's all in the doing
and I know I think pretty smart most of the time but then I forget to do the things
that I set out to do. Then I'll think about it a few months later or I'll forget
about it completely and if I had remembered I would have been a lot further along.
I finally discovered what I did about 8 years ago when I quit smoking.
You see, when I quit that time, it was so easy. I didn't feel any withdrawals. In fact
it was as if I had never smoked in my life. I didn't even think about it. It only lasted
about 2 1/2 months though. Anyway, I've been trying for the past few years to remember
how I did it and I finally figured it out. At the time I was listening to some Tony Robbins
tapes. His greatest tool is called NACS which stands for Neuro Associative Conditioning
System. With this tool, you teach your body to in a sense, instinctively want the things
that you want. So that's why it was so easy. I taught my body and mind not to smoke. I
didn't even have to think about it. The part that I forgot about, and this is why it didn't
last, is that you have to condition the response. Kinda like when you workout and you
attain your perfect body. It won't stay like that unless you do some basic maintenance. See
what I mean.
So, I'm all set up to quit smoking and to accomplish so many things
this year, and it won't even be difficult because I will train myself!
I made some changes to my script with regards to some of the critique
that I got from Triggerstreet. I'm so glad I was intelligent about the critiques. I read
them and then I figured out what made sense and I applied it to the script. I also picked
up a book by Sid Fields that I had. He's the guru of script writing and I applied some
of what he said. Well, I tell you, I'm so proud of myself for doing this because
without a doubt my script is now totally outstanding! :-)
So, I've finally made some decisions about this year, about what I
want to accomplish and how I'm going to do it. I'm not going to put it all here, instead
I'm going to create a separate page. Once I create the page I'm put the link on this page
so you'll know all about it.
Have a fantastic week!
January 4th, 2004
Happy New Year! I hope you all have a fantastic and
prosperous 2004!
I hate to say it but I've been all over the place these
past few weeks. The good thing is that I have a new nephew, born on December
25th! What a great Christmas gift he was. His name is Nicholas and here's
a picture of him.
Can you tell that I'm a proud auntie!
My temp job has ended and the people at work were so generous.
They treated me as if I had been there for years. I'm going to miss them very
much. I told some of them that perhaps I could hire them when my company grows
big. Wouldn't that be great?
That just made me realize, when I become self sufficient, I won't
have opportunities like this to meet people in a setting such as this. I'm glad I made
the most of it.
Still working on the application for the CFC. I also decided to
upload my script on Triggerstreet. This is a site that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon started
a couple of years ago to help writers get their scripts read. They have been brutal
to me. That's ok because first of all, it's being reviewed by peers at the moment.
Some of them have had things produced and some of them haven't. Even though,
I don't expect "trained writers" to be open minded enough to understand my script either. I
know it's different. Einstein once said: "Great spirits have always
encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds."
I've had a few actors read it and since I wrote it from an actors point of view,
and all the actors that have read it so far think it's great, especially the dialogue,
I'm not worried about the Triggerstreet response. It's good for me too because, it's
good to have criticisms. I read it and figure out what is good criticisms and then I
decide if I'm going to take any of their advice. So far, there have been a lot of
complaints about the format and spelling mistakes, which I am totally embarrassed about.
The other criticisms just shows their lack of imagination. I'm very proud of what I
wrote and I think it's awesome and different enough to get noticed. I'd hate to see
what they would have to say about a script written by Quentin Tarantino before they
knew who he was. ;-)
I spent a couple of days reading over my morning pages for the past year.
Wow! That was tough because there was so much to read. I usually write 3 pages a day, every
day! It was amazing! So many things happened to me last year. Some good, some bad, some
amazing and some devastating. I did it because I wanted to figure out what worked and what
didn't and figure out what to do this year in order to have an even better year. I'm still
working on that but when I come up with my recipe, I will pass it on. Now don't get
me wrong, this recipe will be for me and I wouldn't want anyone else to take it but perhaps
it will inspire you to seek out your own recipe.
Have a fantastic week!
December 21th, 2003
Another good week. It's all in the way you interpret what is
happening. For example, a man opening a door for a woman. One woman might be
flattered and graciously accept the offer and walk through the door. Another woman
might be insulted - such as a hard core feminist - because she feels degraded by the
act, and open the door beside it and go in herself. The point is not which one I
am or which one you are but that there is a choice to be one or the other. I choose
to interpret things the way they serve me best.
For example, yesterday I went out with some friends. One of my
friends had a friend who was visiting from out of town. He's one of these guys that
is annoying in the sense that he can be very childish at time. Now don't get me wrong,
I am childish myself at times but I try not to invade other peoples spaces. He was
acting like a stupid child pushing and annoying and invading my space and saying
totally inappropriate things. I could have totally played the victim but I chose
to take it as a challenge. And I'm so proud of myself for standing up to him and
telling him so. :-)
As for my film, I've made a few phone calls and connected with
one of my teachers from theatre school. He's offered to read my script which is
a joyous occasion because I totally respect this man. I can't wait to see what he
thinks.
As for the application to the CFC (Canadian Film Center), I've
decided, contrary to some advise I've been given, by a friend that was in one of the CFC
programs, that I'm going to apply to them as a writer/director/producer. I was told,
by him, that they will not accept that a person is all three. When I called the CFC
they said they base their decision on the strength of the script. I believe my script
is totally outstanding, and if they want it then they are going to have to accept my
conditions. Not only that, but if they decide to give me money for this film, I have
to sign over the rights to the film, and if I'm going to do that then I definitely
want to have all of these titles. Also, if this truly does lessen my chance of them
accepting my script, then so be it. The stakes are high and so I must balance the
equation with my own demands. I'm so proud of myself for coming to this decision.
I haven't been able to get my camera connected to my new computer
in order to do some editing. Seems that my camera has totally broken down. This is
frustrating, especially because of the fact that I wanted to put a really good reel
together to include in my application to the CFC. So, I have to try to get my camera
fixed. AND I'm also taking it as a sign/challenge that perhaps there is a better way
of showing my ability than to make a quick short. I do, after all, want to make a big
impression. So, one of the solutions I've come up with is to storyboard the whole film
or at least come up with a shot list. Either way, there's lots of work to do and I
always love a challenge. :-)
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas of your dreams!!!
December 14th, 2003
It's been quite a weekend! They had a lottery at work for
secondhand computers. They were Pentium III's and so I put my name in and I
got one! Why is this so exciting, because the firewire that I had was only good
for Pentium II's and up. What does that mean? Well, in order to download the
films that I take on my digital video camera onto the computer in order for me
to edit them into movies, I need a firewire. Know what I mean?
So this weekend I've been uploading programs and trying to get
this to work and I'm so close but still no cigar. Grr! This is so frustrating.
The whole weekend has been frustrating because of this computer. I can't believe
I'm so close and that it's still not working. Ahhhhh!!!!
On a better note, we had an office Christmas party and I got
to talk to a few people from work in a more casual atmosphere. I connected with a
woman whom I was interested in speaking with about her possible participation in
some films. She is absolutely interested and she even has an acting background. Wow!
I've been looking into opportunities for financing my film and
I found a great opportunity. The Canadian Film Center has a program call the Feature
Film Project. If they choose your project, they will finance up to $500,000!!! I'm
going for it. The deadline is January 14th. That's another reason why I absolutely
need my computer to work ASAP. I have to give them a reel and I need to be able to put
some films together. :-)
Christmas is fast approaching! It's that time of year again folks. You better
enjoy it while you can because there's a long winter after that. ;-) Hope you have
a great week. Can't wait to see what it brings me.
December 7th, 2003
A few amazing things happened to me this week.
First, I won $10 in 6/49. I know it doesn't sound like much but every
little bit counts.
Secondly, I was told this week that my last day at work would be December
23rd. I was in shock at first and it changed into being upset. Then I thought,
if they could extend my job by just one week it would make a world of difference.
So, I asked and guess what? I received! They extended me until December 31st.
I also decided that this was a blessing in disguise. Something
better is coming my way. Isn't it funny that my job situation changed just on
the heels of finishing my final draft of Wolf? I wonder if that's a sign. A sign
that Wolf is what I should be concentrating on. I know it's a blessing too
because I could have really gotten comfortable with this job. I mean, I'm starting
to get comfortable with the subject matter, and the people I work with are a lot
of fun.
I'm really excited about what is next for me. Hope you all
have a fantastic week.
November 30th, 2003
Yikes! It's the last day of November! I can't believe
time flies the way it does.
Well I wrote the 1 minute short and it's really funny. Someone
actually suggested that I should sell the idea. I think I will.
I'm pretty proud of myself too, all week I've been working on Wolf.
It's getting really polished and I even came up with a brilliant idea to make it
outstanding! Things are really coming together with that. I'm really anxious to finish the work on Wolf so that I can start
moving forward with the production.
Here's a thought: As you focus, so will you manifest. Have a fantastic week all!
November 23rd, 2003
So here's the game plan. I'm doing a final draft on
Wolf In Sheep's Clothing. I've decided to call it a drama because people
get the wrong impression when I tell them it's a thriller. Anyway, I'm also
working on 3 other scripts but as soon as the final draft of Wolf is done,
I'm going to start looking for an agent and a producer. That doesn't mean
that I don't want to produce it myself, it just means that I'm opening up
every possibility to me. An agent would be able to help me sell the script and
a more experienced producer would allow me to take advantage of all the
government funding that is available.
I'm also working on a few 1 minute shorts to keep the blood
flowing when it comes to production. I'm calling the series Moments by Elle.
They're actually very entertaining and funny.
As I said last week, this focus thing is fantastic. It's like
the answer to all of my problems. It's so much easier to forget about bad things or
worrying about things that are not important by turning your focus on what is important
rather than saying to yourself "don't think about it". Because, for example, if I
tell you not to think about the color blue, the first thing you think about is the
color blue. See what I mean!
This was a good week. I've managed to revamp one of my scripts and
to work through half of Wolf. It's all very exciting to know that I'm moving forward
and that I am doing everything possible to make my dreams come true.
I certainly hope you all experience the same bliss as I, if not today perhaps tomorrow.
Have a great week!!!
November 16th, 2003
This focus thing is really helping me out. Even though
sometimes I feel like I don't even have time to breath, I feel like things
in general and more specifically my film, are moving forward. The more I
stay focused on what's important to me, the more nice small things are
happening.
The next things I need to take care of is coming up with
a game plan. Although, I am staying focused, I am still jumping from one
thing to another without having as significant of an effect on my final goal
as I would like to in the same amount of time. So, today and for the next
few days, I am going to plan.
That's if for now. Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!
